Also, remove the panels and cover the filter to access the blower assembly. Clean the blower with a damp cloth.

Clean or Repair Furnace Ducts

Using a forced-air furnace can damage the furnace ducts. So, you should clean the ducts frequently with a high-quality vacuum cleaner. After cleaning the furnace ducts, cover all ducts to avoid air from leaking into the furnace.

Clean the Vents

Dust and debris block the ventilation over time, and blocked ventilation is dangerous for the people in your home.Clean the covers of your vents with a large brush. Now, remove the covers and clean the inside with a vacuum cleaner.

Fan Inspection

Check the fan, as it may have dust and debris around it. Clean it thoroughly with a large brush.

4 Useful Tips for Hiring an Air Duct Cleaning Service

If you're looking to hire air duct cleaning in Vancouver, it's good to rely on a professional for their reliable and efficient services. Hiring someone skilled and professional at cleaning air ducts in your home is one of the most crucial steps you can take to preserve the optimum performance of your HVAC system. Whether you're looking to boost the efficiency of your heating and cooling, or want much-needed relief from allergies, having your air ducts cleaned is a smart move.

Listed below are four useful tips you must consider when hiring a reliable air duct cleaning service.

Ask for References: A reputable company that has accomplished many air duct cleaning projects in the past will not hesitate to provide you with a few references. The majority of companies out there are aware of the fact that word of mouth is an effective way to boost sales. So, these companies ask their customers to use them as references for those who're looking for effective air duct cleaning in Vancouver.

Ask How Long They Have Been in the Air Duct Cleaning Business: Experience plays an essential role when it comes to choosing a company for cleaning your air ducts. Make sure the company you're likely to hire has years of experience in the air duct cleaning business. Don't hesitate to ask the owner how long they have been cleaning the air ducts. If they say a month or two, it's better to look for some other air duct cleaning company. You don't want to work with someone who's still trying to learn or understand the nuances of doing business.

Ask if the Company Provides Insurance: Insurance is another crucial factor that you need to consider when making an informed decision. A reputable air duct cleaning company will provide you with liability insurance with proof. Avoid hiring a company that hesitates to or cannot offer liability proof.

Ask for a Written Contract Before Signing It: You must get the services and costs associated with them written in a contract before you sign it. Ensure that you have read the agreement thoroughly. Doing so will keep you from paying any extra charge that the company may ask you for. Reliable air duct cleaning companies don't believe in doing shady work, and they keep everything transparent with their customers. They offer upfront prices, and their contracts are not lengthy, but easy to understand.

A professional will thoroughly clean the HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) system in your home. You need to make sure that the air in your home is free from pollutants that can cause harm to your loved ones' health. Three Easy DIY Ways to Clean Air Ducts in Your Home

You cannot take air-ducts cleaning in your home for granted. If you ignore it, this will result in choked up air ducts that will create an unhealthy environment and make people ill

Do you want to know the reason how choked up air ducts can make the environment unhygienic and cause illness? Air-ducts attract dust, dirt, and pollen. Over time, thick layers of these contaminants are created on the ducts which then clog the air channel in which the air passes through. These pollutants mix with the air and spread in your home, so the in-house environment becomes polluted which if left untreated triggers several allergies and  causes respiratory health disorders in your home.
By now, you will recognize why air duct cleaning is important in your home. So, the next question is now, how you can clean them

Here are three easy do-it-yourself ways to clean the air ducts

Clean with the Vacuum Cleaner

The easiest way to remove the dust layers is to vacuum the ducts. You can remove the most of the dust from the ducts within a minute by vacuuming. To vacuum the dust from the ducts, you should use the nozzle attachment to blow out the dust. You can do this once or twice a month

Clean with Detergent Cake and Lukewarm Water

You can also clean the ducts with a detergent cake and lukewarm water. However, if you have a problem with the detergent cake, you can use a detergent liquid in its place. This method will remove the bacteria settled on the duct and further remove the dust settled in the air tubes.

Clean with a Blower

You can remove the thick contaminated layers from ducts with a blower as well. The blower will blow the air that will remove the dirt layers from the ducts. This method  can be extremely costly but a time effective option for you

Clean the air ducts once or twice a month to keep the ducts clean. Additionally, take a professional air duct cleaning service once a year to get a detailed cleaning.

When to Consider Air Duct Cleaning

Dirty heating and coils, handling units, and motors reduce the efficiency of your HVAC systems. If the dust and debris buildup is there in the duct, the air will struggle to pass through it. The air should reach the thermostat in significant quantity to create expected temperature in the home. When your HVAC system has to put extra efforts to create that temperature, it consumes more energy that adds to your energy bills. Also, it creates an unhealthy environment in your home that creates many health risks for your family, including you.

Now, a question arises – when should you start thinking about cleaning your filthy air ducts? There are many signals to it. Learn those signals, and you will quickly identify when your duct will demand cleaning.
Let’s see those signs.

Mould Infestation

When you smell a musty or mouldy odour in your home, you should inspect your air ducts. When dust and debris in your air ducts come into the contact of water, it gives place to mould. Mould needs immediate treatment because mould in the air is not good for the health of your family, and it also damages the system.

Dust on the Duct

When you notice dust on the opening of the duct, you should check it. Over time, the dust buildup obstructs the air to pass through it smoothly. The air carries dust and debris particles with it that makes the indoors environment unhealthy.

Insects and Rodents

If you notice insects or rodents around your air ducts, you should understand that the duct has become filthy and needs to be cleaned. The filthy duct allows the insects and rodents to make it their home.

Health Concerns

If people in your home have been suffering from various allergies, then it is time for you to inspect your air ducts. The dust and debris particles may be coming out with the air and making the environment of your home dirty.

Once you notice any of the above mentioned signs, you should inspect your air ducts for dust and debris. If you see them to be dirty, then you should call an expert in air duct cleaning Vancouver. The professional air duct cleaner will perform a thorough cleaning of the duct.

Is Your Boiler Not Working? Check These Things

Is your gas boiler not running? Are you extremely disappointed because you have no hot water to have a shower? Calm down and read this blog post to recognize the problem becauseonce you figure out the problem, getting it fixed will become easy for you.
Some problems are easy to resolve. You can fix them yourself and get the hot water for your shower quickly. In contrast, some complications need professional assistance. If your boiler is on the way out, you have no other option than calling an expert in boiler installation in Vancouver to replace the old boiler with a new one.

Check these things after your boiler is not running.

Timer

Power cut may cause the timer to reset itself. So, you should check it before anything else. If you notice this has reset, you should correct it with the help of the user manual given with your boiler. The manual will guide you how you should reset the timer. Following the manual, set the time that suits you the best.

Thermostat

After timer, you should next inspect the thermostat. Check what temperature you have set for your thermostat and temperature in your room.If you notice the temperature varies, you should reset the temperature of the thermostat on the basis of the room temperature. Low or high temperatures have an impact on the performance of a boiler.

Fuse Box

Check the fuse box. The manufacturers add it to boilers to protect the boiler from the high-voltage power supply. When the voltage goes high, the fuse blew to protect the appliance from any damages.

Gas Supply

If you find the things are going well, then you should check other appliances running with gas. If they are also not working fine, then there is a problem with the gas supply regulator because of which the gas supply has become insufficient to those appliances that use gas as fuel to run.For this, you should immediately contact your gas supplier, and they will reach you soon with help.

Restart the Appliance

If you have not found any issues until now, then you should restart the appliance. You should take the help of the user’s manual for this purpose. The manual will guide you how you should restart the device.

If nothing works, then there may be a fault with the central heating system. This may come about because of boiler pressure, frozen condensate pipes, blockage in the burner, or air in the radiators.
When your boiler does not work, it displays an error code that can help you make a guess about the issue.

However, if you are unable to understand the reason for the problem or get the solution, you should immediately call an expert in boiler repair. The technician will examine your appliance and if it repairable, they will repair it. But, if it has completed its life, they will ask you to consider new boiler installation in Vancouver.

Is Your Furnace Not Blowing Air?

OMG, the blower is not blowing air! But the furnace motor is on! What has gone wrong with the blower? Was this your reaction after you noticed the problem? We advise you to calm down because the problem is not as big as it seems, and you can easily fix it. The blower has failed to work because the belt connecting the two has probably broken. Turn off the power and gas supply. Now, remove the front door of your furnace cabinet to get access to the blower. See the number mentioned on the belt, go to your favorite hardware store and buy the belt with the same number for your furnace.

Now the real challenge is before you – how to remove the broken belt and attach the new one correctly. Let’s first talk about how you will remove the broken belt.

Loosen the bolts carefully with your wrench to move motor slightly in the direction of the blower. Now, move it gently towards the blower so that the belt slacks a bit. Now, pull the broken belt off.

When it comes to attaching the new belt, first, check for any debris in the area for the belt and remove it properly. Next, place the new belt on the pulleys of the motor, then on the blower. Now, place the motor back in its proper place and bolt it down safely. You should oil the motor as well as the fans. Also, oil the sealed bearings if mentioned in the manual. You are done.

An important point to consider here is that your blower may run continuously for two reasons – one, the room thermostat or the limit switch given below the plenum on your furnace. The limit switch gets automatically switched off after the air in the plenum becomes too hot. You should check the thermostat to see whether the fan switch is switched off or on. If it is on, turn it to off or auto.

However, the limit switch will  need to be adjusted that is something you cannot do yourself. You will need help from an expert in furnace repair in Coquitlam. The technician will examine the device and provide the best possible solution. We have been providing furnace repair in Coquitlam for more than 2 decades. We have already worked for more than 15000 projects.
